29 wks

Your baby is as big as a butternut squash, weightwise -- about 2 1/2 pounds. (Length: a tad over 15 inches, head to heel.)

they don't say that you start eating like you've never eaten :) i am sooo hungry all the time. it's crazy. i forgot about that.

my sisters went on a cinnamon donut run for me. it's bad when your family goes on runs for you. and my pregnancy brain is kicked on in high gear. or i guess lack there of.

i had to go to target to get something for haley. i couldn't recall for the life of me what i needed. walked down the aisles aimlessly. left and then later my dad reminded me what i needed. duh. i hate that.

spending a week in omaha. it's so fun for haley to play with her aunties and grandparents.

can't believe i'm 29 wks.

You're in the home stretch! The third and final trimester starts this week. If you're like most women, you'll gain about 11 pounds this trimester. (i gained a lot more than that with haley - we'll see how this trimester goes)

Your baby is equal in weight to a Chinese cabbage -- about 2 1/4 pounds. (Length: almost 15 inches, from head to heel.)

still measuring a bit bigger than average, but that might just be the way he's lying. haley measured small sometimes and big sometimes. next week we will be starting the 3rd trimester. haley sat in my lap today while i got my blood drawn. she was very concerned, but very good today for our long appointment. she sat in a chair all by herself and read a magazine. so grown up. of course she wiggled and danced to her brother's heartbeat.

funny comments

so we have moved past the 'was it a mistake question' thank goodness. now it's when will your construction be done and when will you move haley to her big girl room. same time construction is done ;) hopefully all before the baby comes. i can't believe we'll be full-term in 10 wks. ack. by this time with haley we had started putting her room together and getting organized. we haven't bought anything for this baby yet. i feel kind of guilty. i didn't buy clothes for haley because i knew once i started i wouldn't stop. but i feel like i should buy our little guy something new.

this weekend one of our waitresses offered me wine. i thought that was funny.

also i was waiting in line for the bathroom. and as you get bigger and maybe it's because he was kicking my bladder, but i had to really go - and this lady was so rude to me. first she didn't lock the door so i walked in and she slammed the door on me. then she opened the door - looked at me and said it will take awhile. so i just stood there. the lady worked there and another employee knocked on the door after 5 min and said get out - this lady has to pee. i thought that was pretty nice. i was surprised how rude the lady in the bathroom was.

anyways - then i was getting my haircut and another lady asked me how the new baby was. i guess she thought i looked like i just had the baby - not sure if that's good or bad. i have been looking pretty tired - but i laughed and said the baby is still in my belly. i have a few months to go.

i love that i haven't been riding public transportation. with haley i had strangers wanting to touch my belly or give me advice. so this time i've been able to keep our little guy just to family and friends :)

ok - i'm just babbling because i'm up so early waiting to get haley ready and to go pick out our new bathroom vanity counters. yay.

how am i almost at the 3rd trimester? wow. starting my every 2 wk doc appointments.

Your baby is as hefty as a head of cauliflower, weighing in at almost 2 pounds. (Length: about 14 1/2 inches.)

our baby boy is quite the boxer or kick boxer. he is definitely a wiggler like his sister. he hasn't gotten as many hiccups as haley, but still gets them.

still feeling pretty good considering all that is going on in our house. at least we can sleep in our own beds again - for now. hoping to be done with construction by christmas/hanukkah. yay. can't wait.

election

haley and i have been watching cnn and they keep talking about 'counting' this and numbers and haley keeps doing the 'count' from sesame street. very funny.

Your baby is as tall as an English hothouse cucumber and weighs about 1 2/3 pounds. (Length: 14 inches, head to heel.)

The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.

doc appt

this visit we got to hear the heartbeat and i didn't get my glucose test, but i guess i'll get it in two weeks. my appointments now will be every two weeks. i can't believe we're almost at the third trimester. haley danced to her little brother's heartbeat last night. they hooked me up to the monitor to double check everything. so it was so cute to see her dance. the doctor said things looked normal.

25 weeks. My baby rivals the average rutabaga in weight -- about 1 1/2 pounds. (Length: 13 1/2 inches, head to heel.)

i love the word rutabaga. this little guy is quite the wiggler and has hiccups just like haley. but he is still higher than haley.

feeling pretty good. sleep hasn't changed much, but not sure if it's because of the stress with the construction, but we still can't wait for this little guy to make his appearance.

can't believe that we'll be going to the OB soon every two weeks. maybe it will slow down when i start slowing down :)

haley is starting to point to my belly and saying baby so she definitely notices her mommy getting bigger, but she probably still won't fully understand til she sees him.

can't believe that in three more weeks i'll be in the third trimester. it's so different knowing what to expect. it's good and bad - can't fully explain it. part of you is like i can't believe i'm doing this again (and so soon) and part of you is so amazed that you are able to have another baby and it's such a miracle, but then you go back and forth - but the 40 wks definitely is worth a lifetime of giggles and moments that our kids give us. you can tell how emotional and all over the place (more than normal - that is) i am these days ;)

24 wks

the baby is the length of an ear of corn. and has maybe gained 4 oz. but that doesn't really explain my weight gain. i think it's cinnamon donuts. :) or water gain. but i'm definitely noticeably pregnant and big sweatshirts really can't hide it.

this week we are off to florida for a mini vacation and to visit the in-laws. i'm going to be sitting in the lazy river with haley. can't wait. we went to florida when i was 6 mos pregnant with haley. our little baby moons.

Your baby weighs about as much as a large mango -- just over a pound. (Length: more than 11 inches.)

looking back

(22wks pregnant with haley)
i went back to 22 wks during my pregnancy with haley and found this photo. i'm pretty much the same size. just hope i don't triple in size like last time - i won't be able to keep up with haley. haley and i have been doing this momma and me salsa workout every day. it's fun because we get to dance together.

22 wks

the baby is the length of a spaghetti squash (approx 11 inches).

nothing really new to report. he's still getting hiccups almost every day like haley and wiggles lots at night. he has been giving me some crazy cinnamon cravings. i didn't have real REAL cravings like this with haley. i just ate lots of fruit. but i really think about cinnamon donuts or cinnamon graham crackers all the time. it's kind of funny. it's not an odd craving like pickles and cinnamon toast or anything, but it has got to be from pregnancy.

we still have a long long ways to go. just enjoying my time with haley and running lots of errands because i know it will get a little more difficult with two babies.

right now the remote is on my belly and it's jiggling :) he is already fighting for the remote.

so far so good

had another appointment today. all tests results came back good. yay. good to know we are both healthy. the next set of tests will be the glucose test. then after the next monthly visit i will go every two weeks. can't believe i'll be there already. pretty exciting.

healthy heartbeat and all seems good. yay.

21 wks

Our baby is approximately 10 1/2 inches long — the length of a carrot. I have another doc appt this week so maybe just maybe I'll get some more details or even some test results back. I think that glucose test is coming up. Ick. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it isn't going to be something I go and buy to drink on a regular basis.

20 wks down and maybe 20 more to go before we get to meet this little guy. we can't wait. i'm hoping that some of our projects around the house will be done in time.

he's getting hiccups a lot like haley did. and he's pretty restless at night like i am. so we have our 'quiet' time in the wee hours. i'm looking forward to actually talking to him in person than looking like a crazy person talking to my belly.

almost 21 wks

anyone who knows me knows i hate photos of myself. so here's a photo and i hate it of course. maybe i should just have mike cut out my face and put my belly on there. i'm still in my regular jeans, but unbuttoned :) people can definitely tell i'm pregnant now.

(see side bar photo) i am probably the same size now as i was when i was 6 mos with haley. i think it was 7.5 mos when i started really getting big and people could really really tell. we'll see what happens. i'm definitely carrying higher this time.

20 wks - HALF WAY

our baby is over average by 2 ounces. we'll take it now since he won't always be 'bigger' than average. he is the size of a banana (maybe 6.5 inches) and babycenter says 10 ounces, but the doctor said he was already 12 ounces and long. half way.

it is so nice to be able to say boy instead of it and that haley will have a brother.

still feeling good. starting to show more and maybe i'll pull out some maternity clothes soon. i've been trying to put it off as long as i can. good thing i have lots of babydoll tees.

It's a BOY!!!

We got to watch our little baby boy wiggle and hiccup for an hour and a half or so today. It was quite fun. He looks healthy and is 12 oz. (the size of a soda). We are super excited! He was sucking his thumb and boxing. We won't be posting the 'boy' part photo per Mike's request. :) He's shy. Mike is very excited that he won't be out numbered anymore.

BTW - the doctor put that note on there. on the photo where we can tell he's a boy he put 'i'm a BIG boy' with an arrow towards his penis.

I really thought we were going to have another girl. We would have been happy with either, but it's so exciting that we'll get to have both a boy and a girl. We are very lucky! Haley said 'baby' while we watched her baby brother on the big tv.
