insomnia
did you know that 78% of pregnant women are effected by insomnia? that's an odd number, but whatever - i guess i'm not alone in the no sleeping during pregnancy ordeal. i get lots of lists done, laundry, reading, thinking, word games...i try to keep busy. but it's a lot of time to think and read. anyways - in a few weeks i'll be happier up at night with a baby than by myself. even though this little guy and i bond at night - i'll be happy to be doing something other than talking to him, reading, passing time...i can't wait to hold him and see him. i'll feel more useful i think :)
wish i could put the furniture together for haley's room, organize and clean up some stuff (mike won't let me - too heavy). it's weird to have so much time, but be kind of helpless.

good news
saw the doctor today that delivered haley. he is sooo great. i kind of wish i had switched, but you still don't know who can deliver the baby. anyways - he is sooo much more thorough and answers all my questions. he is much more detailed. so the baby is in place, but i probably still have two weeks. or more. yay. that makes me feel a bit better. even though i am huge and starting to get uncomfortable, but it's also because our little guy isn't as little as haley. so that's also kind of good, but still not a huge baby. his heart beat is good and so that's good. we are getting so excited. i think we will be more ready then and hopefully i'll be able to catch up on some sleep before he comes.
my ob just kind of freaked me out when she said i was really close. i mean i'm close and i could still go any day, but it's not like she made it sound.
the doctor also remembered delivering haley and how easy we were. that's pretty amazing since he's been delivering babies for 30 years and has probably already delivered 400 or more babies since haley.

36 wks
Your baby, almost 6 pounds and still packing on the pounds at a rate of about an ounce a day, is comparable to a crenshaw melon in size. (Length: more than 18 1/2 inches, head to heel.)
At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.)
our baby is already head down and getting ready. could be any day now, but we are hoping at least 2 wks. we just got some bad news about our closets not being done until end of january. another few weeks of getting dressed in the dining room. it would be easier if i could sit on the bed and get dressed. it is getting pretty sad on how long it takes me to get my legs in my pants :)
feeling good. been trying to get things ready. but i know you just never feel ready ready. we are just getting so excited and can't wait to meet our new little guy. he is quite active and i think he already has an attitude. i called him my little buddy last night and he kicked me pretty hard. i guess he already doesn't like being called little :) poor guy is kind of stuck with asian and jewish genes. but who knows. he might have a chance.
we pulled out the car seat - just have to put it in the car or maybe even install it. that's a big step for us :)
haley is enjoying taking naps in her big girl bed. i think it will be a pretty easy and slow transaction. i think once her room is done she'll love it.
and the nursery just needs to get a bit organized. i got some little decals for his walls so it will be more 'manly' - little planes and clouds to match the stars. i just have to get them up. it's kind of hard to get too close to the wall :)

big belly
you know your belly is big when you can't do your one handed turns with the steering wheel because your belly is in the way :) or i guess you're sitting too close :) but my belly button is slowly disappearing. i had my belly button the whole time with haley, but our little guy is taking it away.

35 wks
can't believe i'm 35 wks. i will write more in a bit. sorry.
ok sorry was a hectic day....
Your baby, now as hefty as a honeydew melon at 5 1/4 pounds, doesn't have much room to maneuver in your belly. (Length: more than 18 inches, head
to heel.)
speaking of honeydew - i've been eating lots of fruit. yum. mike is doing the grocery shopping lately and picking out great fruit. i'm not allowed to go anymore. it's probably for the best because we need to not spend so much on unnecessary foods :)
feeling ok. he's getting sooo strong. it's fun to see a foot move across my belly. so it's been harder to sleep because i've got lots of movement going on. we get some good bonding in though. and haley isn't up kicking him and sitting on him.
starting to lay out some small outfits for the baby just in case. next doc appointment is next week. we'll keep you posted. my due date isn't for a month. so you just never know. living on the edge :)

latest update
just got back from the doc for 34 wks. i told the doc i have felt things moving in the right direction and that i was getting nervous since haley was early. so she checked. the baby is head down and ready - i was right. if you want to more details i can tell you later. i know some people might get grossed out, but the baby could be coming in the next few weeks. haley was born at 39 wks and this guy could come around 38 or 39. i just have to really keep track and pay attention because with haley i thought i was having braxton hicks and they were real contractions so my labor went really quickly. so i could possibly have this baby in 3.5 hrs. so i have to get to the hospital stat. but very exciting. things are moving in the right direction and if i did have the baby now he would still be ok. but just very very little. maybe 5 lbs. but this makes it so real and exciting and now i'm going to be in super nesting mode, but can't nest because our house is still a mess from our projects. we hope to be done in the next two weeks - i also hope to not have the baby until at least 37 wks. so we have time to get more ready :) but no matter what happens as long as he is healthy we will be happy.
